Head black, shot with blue; thorax and abdomen brick-red ; patagia brown; legs brown, the femora red; abdomen with ventral series of white points. Fore wing red-brown, with triangular terminal yellow patch at tornus. Hind wing hyaline, with the veins and terminal area black-brown. Hab. Ecvavor, Loja. vp. 34 millim, This species is unknown to me. Supp. 1 590 b. Rhynchopyga elongata, Dogn., trans. from Correbia, no. 1142. Male. Fore wing with the whitish patch at tornus almost obsolete. Subsp. 1. Both sexes with broad rather oblique antemedial ochreous band from below costa to vein 1 crossed by dark streaks on the veins and a yellow band from costa beyond middle, towards which it narrows, to tornus; abdomen with the dorsal white spots defined by blackish. Perv, Carabaya, San Domingo in Coll. Dognin. AZ NOTE: Cat. Lep. Ph. Brit. Mus. uses a non-standard definition of "tegulae" and "patagia". From Vol. 1: "The thorax consists of three segments-the prothorax, bearing the tegulm or collar-lappets, the patagia or shoulder-lappets, and the fore legs ..." Seitz: C. elongata Dogn. (26 a). Head black and blue; thorax and abdomen brick-red, shoulder-covers brown; legs brown with red femora. The venter shows a series of white dots. Forewings red-brown with a yellow, triangular inner-angular spot. Hindwings hyaline with blackish-brown veins and marginal band. Ex¬ panse of wings: 34 mm. Loja (Ecuador).
